About me
My workload including drafting Wills, obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, administering estates in accordance with Wills and the Intestacy rules, Inheritance tax calculations, locating Wills, locating beneficiaries, transferring properties that were part of an Estate, Drafting and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship applications. All matters will start with an initial appointment to ensure that I am able to assist with a matter. I qualified with a 2:1 Law Degree from the University of Sheffield in 2012, and then went on to do my Legal Practice Course part time from September 2013. I did this at the Nottingham Law School at Nottingham Trent University. Whilst undertaking my Legal Practice Course I also did my Training Contract. This meant that was working full time whilst studying. During my Training Contract I worked in several areas to include Commercial, Conveyancing and Wills and Probate. I decided during my training that Wills and Probate is where I would like to specialise and when I qualified in 2016 I have worked only worked in the Wills and Probate field. I did my Training Contract with a firm called Martin Smalley’s Solicitors (now known as Smalleys Solicitors) but left there in August 2017, and joined Edward Hands and Lewis Solicitors trading as Sheltons Solicitors in September 2017, and I haven’t looked back. I continue to work in Wills and Probate and hope to continue to expand my knowledge and expertise in this area. My approach to my work is always focused on the Client and achieving the best possible outcome for them in a timely manner. Given this area of work I hope I show empathy to my clients who come to us for help at some of the most difficult times in their lives. I also think as a person I am very approachable and understanding. In my opinion I do have a good relationship with my Clients and always try to do my best for them.
